Building a Strong Foundation for Math and English Before IB

Grade 10 is a chance to bridge the somewhat excessively significant gap between G10 and 11 math. Core units must be well studied to ensure students are well-prepared for IB math. During winter, students join the DP1 Math AA SL class for an introductory experience of IB math. For English, which can be particularly challenging for international students, analytical essay writing practice must begin if not begun already. Science students start preparing for IA assignments by practicing lab reports early on.

DP1 (G11)

Mastering Key Concepts with Strategic Pre-Learning

The summer program covers about 70% of key concepts ahead of the school year, while the winter session focuses on completing the remaining topics and reviewing core content from the first semester. Rather than skimming through a full year’s content, the program emphasizes deep learning with problem-solving, even if it means covering slightly less material. This approach ensures practical support for students when they return to school, making pre-learned content truly beneficial.

DP2 (G12)

Problem-Solving Practice Oriented for Final Exam Preparation

Nearing the end of IB program, the summer focuses on problem-solving teaching students exam techniques and strategies and pre-learning for the second-year curriculum. The winter session is dedicated to overall review of the whole subject in preparation for final exams. Through focused problem-solving and full-unit reviews, students receive thorough preparation to achieve their final academic goals.
