Maths AA·AI and Physics

Breaking down complex maths and physics into concepts that actually make sense — and helping students take ownership of their learning.

About

John spent his school years moving between international schools in New Zealand, the Philippines, and Indonesia, finishing the IB Diploma as salutatorian of Jakarta Intercultural School. The discussion-based, interdisciplinary thinking of the IB shaped his learning style and led him to KAIST, where he completed both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. Over 8 years of teaching, he has guided more than 100 students through IA and EE projects — his particular specialty.

Academic Scores

  • IB Math HL: 7 | Physics HL: 7 | Economics HL: 7

Teaching Style

John’s classes go beyond comprehension — he aims to make students fall in love with the subject itself. Discussion-driven and self-directed, his lessons train problem-solving instincts rather than rote technique. For IA/EE consulting, he leverages his graduate research background (manufacturing system optimisation with data and statistics) to help students create original, practical research topics calibrated to high school level.
